OUR MISSION

Shinta Mani Hotels exists to support the work of the Shinta Mani Foundation, established in 2024 by Bill Bensley and Sokoun Chanpreda and dedicated to uplifting individuals through a variety of initiatives. By staying with us, you are making a real, important impact on the people, communities, wildlife, and ecosystems of Cambodia.

Shinta Mani Angkor began as a staff housing facility for a hotel that Sokoun and Bill were building in the early 2000s. Noting the lack of opportunity for the deeply impoverished locals, they began offering free hospitality training, turning the facility into a simple guesthouse where the students could practice their skills. Over the years, the guesthouse evolved into the boutique hotel it is today.

The school is still at the heart of Shinta Mani Angkor. Students from disadvantaged backgrounds receive free tuition, uniforms, materials, meals, a stipend, and housing as needed. They learn English as well as general life skills and specialize in one of the departments of the hotel, including culinary, front office, housekeeping, maintenance, restaurant, and spa therapy.

We have graduated more than 300 students and are proud of our 100% employment rate!

Shinta Mani Foundation

Since its establishment in 2004, the Shinta Mani Foundation has been a driving force for change within the Cambodian community. This non-profit organization operates a broad range of programs encompassing education (including the hospitality school at Shinta Mani Angkor), healthcare, small business development, and environmental preservation.

It is our mission to ignite a ripple effect of positive change, contributing to the creation of a thriving and vibrant Cambodia.
